Our Guardian Home Program is designed for loving families who want to share in the joy of raising a top-quality English Labrador Retriever while partnering with Bella Frieda Farm to continue our mission of improving the breed. This program allows us to give each of our dogs the individual attention, training, and affection they deserve while maintaining our small-scale, family-centered breeding model.

Guardian families receive a “pick of the litter” puppy at little to no cost, while Bella Frieda Farm retains breeding rights for an agreed period. Once breeding obligations are complete, the dog will be spayed or neutered at our expense, and full ownership transfers to the guardian family.

Guardian Family Responsibilities

• Live within approximately one hour of Bella Frieda Farm in order to facilitate visits when needed.
• Provide an indoor home environment where the dog is part of the family.
• Maintain regular veterinary care, vaccinations, heartworm and flea prevention, and excellent nutrition.
• Keep the dog well-exercised, socialized, and involved in daily family life.
• Communicate openly with us about health, behavior, and (for females) heat cycles.
• Ensure any other dogs in the home are spayed or neutered.

Bella Frieda Farm Responsibilities

• Cover all breeding-related costs, including health testing and reproductive care.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and support every step of the way.
• Spay or neuter the dog at the end of the breeding program and transfer full ownership to the guardian family.
• Maintain a lifelong relationship with every dog and their guardian family.
